Out Driving ("Out Driving," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Out Driving, LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit www.outdriving.com, listen to the Out Driving podcast, watch our films, follow our social media accounts, subscribe to our newsletter, shop our Gear store, send us a message or Postcard, or otherwise interact with us (collectively, the "Services").

Who We Are
Out Driving is a journal, podcast, and film series about the road, operated by Out Driving, LLC, a Virginia limited liability company. We share stories, guides, and conversations that help people drive with confidence and explore farther.
Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we collect through the Services. It does not apply to information collected by third-party websites, platforms, or services that we do not own or control, even if we link to them or embed their content.
Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
Contact information, such as your name and email address, when you subscribe to our newsletter, send us a message, or submit a Postcard.
Messages and submissions, such as questions, stories, comments, and Postcards you choose to send us.
Order information when you purchase from our Gear store, such as your name, email address, shipping address, phone number, and order details. Payments are handled by our store platform and its third-party payment processors. We do not store full payment card numbers on our own systems.
Information we collect automatically
Device and technical information, such as IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and language settings.
Usage information, such as pages viewed, links clicked, time spent, and referring pages.
Cookies, pixels, and similar technologies, as described in the "Cookies and Tracking Technologies" section below.
Information from third parties
Analytics and advertising providers, such as Google Analytics and Meta, that help us understand how the Services are used and how people find us.

Postcards and Content You Submit
When you send us a Postcard, a story, or a question, we may read it on the Out Driving podcast, share it in our Journal, or feature it on our social media accounts. We may use your first name and general location (such as your city or state) when we do. We will not publish your email address, phone number, or street address. Please do not include information in a submission that you would not want shared publicly. If you would like your submission kept private, tell us in your message, and we will respect that.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal information only in the following circumstances:
Service providers. With vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as website and store hosting, payment processing, order fulfillment and shipping, email delivery, podcast hosting, and analytics. These providers may use personal information only as needed to perform services for us.
Analytics and advertising partners. Through cookies and pixels on our website, we allow partners such as Google and Meta to collect information about your activity, which helps us measure our content and show Out Driving to people who may enjoy it. Under some state laws, this may be considered "sharing" personal information for targeted advertising. You can opt out as described below.
Legal and safety. When required to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or a governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, property, or safety.
Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, in which case personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the website, remember your preferences, understand usage, and measure how people find us. Cookies are small files stored on your device. Advertising pixels. We use the Meta Pixel to measure the results of our content and promotions on Facebook and Instagram. You can manage how Meta uses this information in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings, and you can limit this tracking through your browser's privacy settings.
Embedded content. Our pages include embedded content from third parties, such as our podcast player (Transistor) and videos (YouTube). These services may set their own cookies and collect information when you view or play their content, under their own privacy policies.
Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, fulfill orders, respond to messages, comply with our legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
How We Protect Your Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We will verify your request before responding, which may require confirming information we already hold about you. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, subject to verification.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). California residents have the rights described above, including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. Our use of advertising pixels may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, and you may opt out by contacting us or by using a browser that sends a Global Privacy Control signal, which we will honor as required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Other U.S. state privacy rights. Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and others) may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal information, and certain profiling. To exercise these rights, contact us as described below. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response.
Children's Privacy
The Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Third-Party Links
The Services may contain links to third-party websites, platforms, and services, such as podcast apps, YouTube, social media, and places we write about, that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing any information with them.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common industry standard for responding to these signals, the Services do not currently respond to them. We will honor recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, as required by applicable law.
Where Your Information Is Processed
The Services are operated in the United States, and your information is processed in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
